Satu-satunya Masjid Berlumut di Dunia ยท The World's Only Living Moss-Covered Mosque

Coming Soon to Masjid Mossy Station, Cameron Highlands

Deep within the misty cloud forests of the Cameron Highlands, at an elevation of 1,800 metres, a new kind of sanctuary is rising. Masjid Mossy is not built to fight nature. It is built to embrace it.

Unlike any mosque you have seen before, Masjid Mossy is designed to live in harmony with the Cameron Highlands' cool, damp, mist-shrouded environment. Its stone walls, dome, and minaret are crafted to be gradually reclaimed by the forest โ€” moss, lichens, and creeping vines will weave across its surfaces over time. The structure does not age in the conventional sense. It becomes more beautiful with each passing year.

"There is no other mosque like this on earth. Masjid Mossy is the world's first and only moss-covered mosque โ€” a living architectural wonder that blends Ottoman-inspired design with the raw, untamed beauty of the Malaysian highlands."

Reachable via a short cable car ride from Taman Sedia station, Masjid Mossy sits at the heart of the Gunung Berembun summit. Visitors alight at Masjid Mossy Station and arrive through swirling morning mist, greeted by the warm golden glow of light spilling from arched windows. The contrast between the cool, damp exterior and the serene warmth within is a metaphor for the journey itself โ€” from the chaos of the world into a space of profound peace.

The mosque is intimate in scale. It is designed not for crowds, but for quiet contemplation โ€” a place where prayer and nature become one.

Masjid Mossy is more than a place of worship. It is a symbol of what happens when architecture, nature, faith, and culture converge. Turkish craftsmanship meets Malaysian soul. Ancient Islamic tradition meets the living forest. A structure that begins as a building and ends as a part of the mountain.

"Semakin hari, semakin berlumut, semakin mempersonakan."
The mossier it gets, the more enchanting it becomes.
